How long does Google Play production-access review take?

Short answer: Google says production-access review usually takes seven days or less, but it can occasionally take longer. This review starts after the 14-day closed test and after you submit the production-access application; the test period and review period are separate.

What happens after you apply

Google reviews your answers about the closed test, the app and production readiness. The account owner receives an email when the decision is ready. Approval unlocks production access; you may still need to promote or create the production release before the app becomes public.

What to do while the application is in review

• Keep the closed track and tester access intact.
• Watch the account-owner email address and Play Console Inbox.
• Do not submit speculative changes just to make the status move.
• Finish production assets, country selection and rollout planning.

If Google asks for more testing

Read the reason literally. Google lists fewer than 12 continuously opted-in testers and insufficient tester engagement as reasons additional testing may be required. Continue the closed test, improve genuine feature coverage and feedback, and reapply when the new requirement shown in Play Console is met.

If the review goes beyond seven days

A longer review is not automatically a rejection. Check Play Console for policy tasks or missing declarations and use Play Console support if the status remains unchanged beyond the stated window. Keep a record of the application date and any case number.
